With global intelligence, in order to enhance market competitiveness, using the Internet of Things to create smart rooms seems to be a new trend in the hotel industry recently. After Marriott (Marriott Group) and Hilton (Hilton Group), European hotel giant AccorHotels (Accor Group) also Not to be outdone, a new smart concept guest room was launched at the headquarters in Paris.

The Accor Smart Hotel in Paris uses innovative technologies such as the Internet of Things to create more personalized and convenient rooms, which will increase the key value of the Accor brand, owners and guests. Accor's smart concept room has a built-in tablet and Google's Google Home voice assistant, allowing guests to control various facilities in the room, such as lighting, TV and curtains, through either of the two. Other in-room features include: Dodow lighting, a small device that works like a metronome and periodically adjusts the brightness of the lighting to help guests fall asleep; Dreem Headband, a device that uses biofeedback and neuromodulation to improve sleep quality wearable devices; the LED lighting system that senses the movement of visitors and automatically switches the lights on and off, so visitors don’t have to fumble for a light switch in the dark when they wake up in the middle of the night; Simulate coffee, tea and other relaxing scents.

Not only that, but another important aspect of the AccorHotels smart room concept is its focus on accessibility for people with disabilities or reduced mobility. That means wardrobes with sliding shelves and rods for easy access; TVs that swivel 180 degrees; adjustable bed heights; bathrooms with easily adjustable shower heads, shower seats, and height-adjustable sinks; Grab bar as towel rail. Accor aims to make design simpler, which will enhance the overall guest experience. While this room was designed to accommodate travelers with reduced mobility, it really was created for everyone.
