General Motors is moving forward with its electrification plans, and today it announced the stunning, poorly named Buick Demonstrate the concept of cooperation at the China Auto Show 2018. As concepts go, this product looks great and very feasible.

GM says it uses Buick's eMotion powertrain, which can produce a maximum output of 410 kilowatts (about 550 horsepower). This should be more beneficial for a 4-second sprint to 60 mph. Time range is 370 miles, and the battery can be charged to 80% in 40 minutes. It supports fast and wireless charging.

2018 Buick Enspire all-electric concept SUV

Inside is an augmented reality windshield, an OLED display and a wooden center console. Since this is just a concept and nothing is real, the Enspire has 5G connectivity.

General Motors pledged in 2017 to release 20 electric vehicles over the next five years. The company is going all-in on electric vehicles, and something like the Buick would be a perfect fit in the world of crossovers and mild-mannered SUVs. I think it's better than Tesla Model X, but of course, Model X is real, it's just a concept.

Envision was announced in China, where the Buick nameplate is well-loved. It will be interesting to see whether GM releases this luxury SUV under a different brand. To me, throw in a new grill, ditch the stupid names, and SUVs could be the future of Chevy.

Pricing and availability were not announced.
