Consulting firm Deloitte has teamed up with AI hardware and software provider Nvidia to offer new AI services to businesses.

On April 25, the company unveiled Quartz AI, a pair based on the Nvidia AI Enterprise and Omniverse platforms. Nvidia Omniverse enables users to create generic 3D workflows and applications based on scene descriptions.

Combining the Nvidia AI enterprise software stack and Nvidia Omniverse, the Quartz AI suite includes Compass AI and Frontline AI.

Compass AI is powered by Nvidia cuOpt optimization software, which helps in fleet routing and scheduling optimization. Compass AI embeds AI into workflows and is a cost-effective option for logistics customers, Deloitte said.

Meanwhile, Frontline AI is a virtual customer service representative that simplifies, measures and resolves feedback. According to Deloitte, this is an advanced chatbot service with visual conversations that can communicate in any language and is useful in the retail, service and customer service industries.

productive partnership

Compass AI and Frontline AI have enabled both Deloitte and Nvidia to show how generative AI systems and large language models (LLMs) can be adapted to specific business goals, said Opus research analyst Dan Miller.

With generative AI and LLM showing little sign of slowing down in adoption, the next challenge for vendors is finding ways to align them with business goals, he said.

That will lead companies like Deloitte — and rivals like Accenture, EY — to forge partnerships with LLM developers, while at the same time bringing the technology into productivity tools, Miller said. Deloitte recently launched a generative artificial intelligence practice.

"It's kind of an automation story where you automate to achieve certain business goals," he continued. "That's why Nvidia wants to partner with companies like Deloitte that bring [products] based on its technology into specific business projects."

Such partnerships are beneficial to both parties. For example, Nvidia's benefit from Deloitte is project-driven, and Deloitte gets a branded product that ties it to Nvidia, Miller added.

Additionally, partnerships like this one can help ease some of the enterprise's concerns about generative AI and LLMs. For example, many are concerned about how LLMs can unilaterally spew out false and misleading information.

"This is where a company like Deloitte can prove its worth," Miller said. “Businesses know they have to adopt it. Now, they will have a trusted consulting partner like Deloitte who can help strengthen it and counter many of the objections to AI getting out of hand.”

He added that while those concerns remain, businesses trust Deloitte and its credibility in protecting the implementation of generative AI tools and applications.
