Xinhuanet, Beijing, December 25th: Recently, the "2017 China Smart Parking Industry Big Data Report" launched by ETCP was released in Beijing. The "Report" points out that the current penetration rate of smart parking applications in cities in my country is less than 20%, but the demand potential is strong and the potential development space of the industry is huge.

It is understood that the "Report" focused on selecting ten core cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chongqing, Suzhou, Chengdu, Wuhan, Xi'an, and Changsha for big data analysis and research. Data show that in 2017, the number of traditional parking spaces in my country reached 80 million, but the parking gap rate reached 50%, and the average vacancy rate also reached 51.3%. The existing parking spaces are not fully utilized. Among them, the existing parking space utilization rates in Shanghai and Chongqing are only 40% and 48% respectively.

The "Report" believes that easing parking conflicts and improving parking space utilization is no less than building a new parking lot. In the long term, my country's smart parking industry will go through three stages of development: initial transformation, extended application, and then to smart platforms. In the process of continuous evolution, the industry will become more intelligent, open, and diverse, creating greater commercial and social value. In the future, parking fees will no longer be the main source of revenue for parking lots. The parking lot will become the consumption entrance and hub of multiple business scenarios. It can link and empower other businesses through the open platform, build a win-win ecosystem, and explore more business value while providing users with better services.
