Hey smartphone makers, wake up!

Smartphone makers like Google and Apple need to wake up in time. But by the time they realize this, it will probably be 2020, not 2017. Selling even a basic smartphone with just 64GB of storage is an insult to buyers.

Yes, it's an insult.

So, Google launched the Pixel 4. What is surprising is that the base model of this phone only has 64GB of storage space.

Yes, in an age of massive displays and high-resolution cameras, storage capacity remains stuck in the past. Pixel 3 and Pixel 2 were released in September 2018 and September 2017 respectively, with storage capacities of 64GB.

It’s not just Google. Apple is in equally bad shape, even though the company brazenly calls its 64GB storage device a “pro” device. Like Google, Apple began to provide 64GB as a starting capacity in 2017, and launched the iPhone 8 and iPhone X series phones accordingly.

It can be seen that for the Pixel and iPhone series, the startup capacity has not changed in three updates.

Don't think this is a decision that's good for consumers. Neither Apple nor Google has lowered the prices of devices with 64GB of storage, and the price difference between smartphones with 64GB and 128GB is only about $20. They do this in order to sell phone models with more realistic storage capabilities at exorbitant prices.

Keep in mind that neither the Pixel 4 nor the iPhone 11 offer any slots to expand local storage. So it's either cloud storage or relying on clunky external storage options.

Apple and Google, it’s time to wake up. You can do better. You're all already selling devices with huge profit margins, but you're choosing to play the stupid storage game in a desperate attempt to make more money.

This is very disappointing.
